Head of Mission and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation
Dr.\r\n Rashid Yahya Ssemuddu has been the Head of Mission in Riyadh since June\r\n 2013 after being appointed to this position by H.E the President of \r\nUganda. He previously served as the H.E the Presidents envoy for \r\nInvestment and Trade to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Arab \r\nCountries.
Dr. Rashid is a respected scholar, cleric and leader \r\nin the Islamic community of Uganda and has previously served as Head of \r\nUganda Hajj Commission and convener of the Uganda Muslim Leaders \r\nConference, a forum that brings together all district Khaddis and \r\nImmams. He is also involved in NGO work through Madinah International \r\nDevelopment Agency (MIDA) which he has served as Director General since \r\n2001.
Dr. Rashid holds a PhD, MA and B.A Degrees in Islamic Law \r\nfrom the Islamic University in Madinah. He is married with 7 children.
Ambassador Ahmed Ssenyomo has been Deputy Head of Mission in Riyadh since 2009. He has had a distinguished career in the Uganda Foreign Service rising through the ranks to the position of Ambassador/Foreign Service Officer Grade I.
Before becoming Deputy Head of Mission in Riyadh, Ambassador Ahmed served as Director Regional Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda in 2008 and before as Chief of Protocol/ Marshall of the Diplomatic Corps in Uganda from 2003 to 2008. He has previously served at the Deputy Head of Mission at Uganda Embassy in Washington D.C, Political Affairs officer at Uganda Embassy in Cairo and as a Programme Officer at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He holds an M.A in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury and a B.A in Languages and Simultaneous interpretation from Al-Azhar University Cairo, Egypt. Ambassador Ahmed is married with children.
