The public is hereby informed thatthe special repatriation flight from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uganda has been rescheduled for Wednesday 22nd July 2020,to give time for Ugandans to make the bookings and payments for this flight.
PUBLIC NOTICE: STANDARD PROCEDURES FOR THE RETURN OF UGANDANS STRANDED ABROAD
Riyadh,17th June 2020: The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Riyadh would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the general public for the patience exhibited during these unprecedented times following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic which necessitated a restriction in travel in and out of Uganda.
Following the decision by Government of Uganda to the return of the stranded Ugandans abroad,this Embassy embarked on a registration exercise of her nationals in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Yemen from 17th April 2020.
The Embassy would like to inform the general public that according to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, the stranded Ugandans will meet the cost of travel and adhere to mandatory quarantine at a private center or accept to use a public facility on arrival.
The Embassy wishes to draw the attention of the public to the attached standard operation procedures for the return of Ugandans who are stranded abroad on account of closure of Entebbe International airport and the borders following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Embassy will soon advise on the Airline to be used so that all bookings can be handled directly with the specified airline. You are highly encouraged to take a COVID-19 PCR test which will be a requirement when making the booking. We shall continue to provide the necessary guidance from time to time.
